Teaching Philosophy
“In order for one’s practice to be firmly grounded, it must be done consistently, over a long period of time, with devotion.”
- yoga sutra 1.14
I have been creating, dancing, and performing for all of my adult life and I feel happiest when I am sharing that passion with others. I have done everything from performing on large stages across the country, to improvised street performances. I enjoy every aspect of dance and try to create a full immersive experience for the audience and myself.
In teaching dance, I have discovered it’s healing qualities and how much it can give a person inner confidence, purpose, and joy. I believe dance is for all ages and sizes! Although, I do believe Classical ballet and Contemporary dance are the basic foundations of dance and I want all of my students to learn these forms of dance to better their own personal dance style. I was lucky to have many wonderful teachers/mentors on my dance journey and hope to be that for my students!
