O. Henry Middle School

Back to School Updates 9.1.20

September 1, 2020

Good morning Mustangs,

I cannot believe we are in September!  In eight more days we will get to meet our students and we cannot wait! This week I will continue to send out updates in real-time!  As we prepare for our virtual re-opening, we want to make sure you have everything you and your student need for a successful start of school.

By now, you may have seen from this week’s Pony Express that student schedules have been pushed out “live” for our students and parents to view.  We found out on Monday that some of the class names are showing as the course guide names and not what we call them at O. Henry (this happened across the district too).  So we have prepared a “Short Cut Sheet” link here

On Wednesday night we are offering TECHNOLOGY 101 FOR PARENTS.  If you are new to AISD or just really confused about how to access the AISD applications, navigate BLEND and Teams, and/or personalize your calendar and notifications, please join the O. Henry Instructional Coaches for a technology workshop for beginners from 4:00-5:00 pm on Wednesday, September 2nd. The session Zoom link will be posted in the BLEND O. Henry  Community course or you can link here at ZOOM LINK  session 374 560 3933 (use OHMS2020 as the password if prompted).

You can also click HERE for O. Henry Parent Resources on Getting Started in BLEND.

Finally, I did not mean to leave out information about our Band program in this week’s  Pony Express.  Our directors Mr. Pinkney and Ms. Boltz have listed lots of great information about Band for our Mustang musicians.  Please find this link as a way for you to Meet the Instruments.

Thank you for reaching out to us if you have any questions about the start of school.  We are here to help you. Please feel free to call us at 512-414-3229 if you have any questions.

Make it a great day to be an O. Henry Mustang,

Marlo Malott, Principal
