Austin High Information

Upcoming Dates- Course Selection (For Students Zoned to AHS)

Wednesday, Feb 18: AHS will host an information session about course selection. Students/guardians will be able to select their courses with the help of AHS counselors. This event will take place at 6PM in the Austin High School Library. Families should bring choice sheets and an electronic device to select classes.

Friday, Feb 20th: AHS counselors visit O. Henry during science classes to help 8th graders select their courses for AHS. Selections are final. Students will need to bring their choice sheets to school. If your student needs a copy of their choice sheet, please direct them to the counseling office.

8th grade students who are applying to transfer into Austin High (or another high school) will be able to select their courses once their transfer is accepted. For transfer enrollment timelines and information, please see the Enroll Austin website.

AHS Academy Preference Survey

OHMS 8th graders will complete the Academy Preference Survey during ACES time the week of Feb 23rd. Students zoned to AHS and students intending to transfer to AHS will complete preference surveys. Please take the time to learn about AHS academies with your student in before they complete the preference survey. You may also do the preference survey with your student ahead of time, but it must be complete by April 10th.

Learn about the Four AHS Academies:

Academy Placements will be announced and sent to family in May by Austin HS, not O. Henry.
