This will be my second year at O. Henry Middle School and I am excited to be back! I am born and raised in Austin and graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelors in English. I love helping both our counselors and the librarian (you can frequently find me in the library). I enjoy reading, goofy earrings and crafts.

Hi, I am Vikki Harisis, but everyone can call me Ms. H. (my last name may be difficult to pronounce for most people.)  I am excited to start this school year at O. Henry Middle School.  This will be my sixth year serving as a school counselor with Austin ISD, and my first at O. Henry Middle School.  I’ve spent many years in education in Texas, and I’m passionate about helping students learn, grow, and thrive to their full potential.  Before becoming an educator, I was in the insurance field.  I realized that I wanted to be a teacher; therefore, I went back to UTSA for my Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Certification.  After teaching for several years, I decided to become a counselor and started my graduate studies at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.

Although I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, I have called Texas home since middle school.  My first language is Greek and I am a daughter of immigrant parents. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, caring for my rescue dog, bearded dragon, working out at the gym, watching HGTV, baking, dancing, walking, or reading.
