ROUND UP 2025!

Dear Mustang Families,

What a week. Round Up was a tremendous success, and thanks to your incredible support, our PTA exceeded their fundraising goal. Thank you for supporting in the work we are doing at O. Henry to advance student learning. I am so grateful for each of you who came out, whether you were supervising, volunteering, or enjoying the evening with your family. It filled my bucket to see our Mustang community come together in celebration.

A very special thank you goes to our Round Up Co-Chairs-Katie Romano, Jenny St. George, and Erinn Edmonds, for their hard work and leadership for Round Up 2025. This event surpassed my expectations, and it would not have been possible without the efforts of countless Round Up leads, volunteers, staff, and sponsors. Thank you for making it such a success.

A few additional shout-outs go to Jenny Parker (Art Teacher) for transforming a simple, over-caffeinated Saturday morning idea into the beautiful i love o. henry so much mural, modeled after the Jo’s Coffee wall, and to Paul Kleiman (AP) and Michael Jurkovic (Spanish Teacher) for bravely taking pies in the face. Our Austin High football team helped move the O. Henry picnic tables to make space for the carnival, while the Austin High men’s and women’s golf teams volunteered their time at Round Up on Friday. We were also thrilled to welcome so many elementary families from our feeder schools. These joyful moments remind us just how special our Mustang community is.

Please look for the AISD school consolidation information letter that we sent home with students on Friday. Students should have received it from their 6th period teacher, and there is also additional information in this week’s Pony Express.

This is Spirit Week for our Mustangs! Our Pep Rally is on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the gym, and there are fun dress-up days each day this week. Details are included in the Pony Express. Additionally, we home to see everyone at Future Maroon night on Thursday, October 2nd, 6:00 pm at House Park.

Important Reminders for Families

• Pep Rally -Tuesday, September 30, 3:00 p.m. Students will follow an adjusted schedule for this special event.

• Character Strong -Tuesday, September 30, 5th period. AISD-wide character lessons begin this week with a “Welcome Lesson”.

• Future Maroon Night- Thursday, October 2nd, 6:00 pm, House Park

• Parent Conferences- October 20 Please note that AISD has updated the calendar. October 20 will now be a Parent Conference Day (not a staff development day). More details will follow soon.
